real love

you drive me wild
you make me spin
your curly lashes
your toothy grin

your limping knees
your fallen arches
conjure in me
wedding marches

your asthmatic gasps
your barking snore
always leave me
wanting more

    This is a charming little poem. It's very well done, the way the images of imperfection and infirmity escalate over the course of the poem, right up to that great punch line at the end. It's funny and touching at the same time. I think my favorite stanza is the second one: the incongruity is so perfectly distilled there . . .
